Old English hilt "hilt, handle of a sword or dagger," from Proto-Germanic *helt (source also of Old Norse hjalt, Old High German helza "hilt," Old Saxon helta "oar handle"), of uncertain origin, possibly from PIE root *kel- "to strike, cut" (see holt). Formerly also used in plural in same sense as singular. Up to the hilts "completely" is from 1670s.

Protect your sabre during rehearsals and keep it looking great for performances. Made from tough polyurethane material, the hilt guard acts as a shock absorber to help protect the sabre from damage. Hilt guard fits the dsi excalibur 36" and 39" sabre along with most spanish style sabres.

This saber is the first collaboration between Ignition Saber Co. and incredible sabersmith Gary Morris. A worthy tribute to Gary's masterpiece, originally known as "Wrecker," this new hilt is a fully updated version for 2023. Dimensions have been refined and subtle changes made to modernize it while the hilt still retains the basic original aesthetic of Gary's hand-made masterpiece.
